Hide and Sleep

Jack has recently discovered the game hide and seek.  His favorite place to hide is in the hall closet.  He will head to the closet and close the door.  Then, I count to ten and pretend to look for him.  "Henry, where did Jack go?  Is he behind the curtains?  Under the couch?"  Without fail, the little voice in the closet pipes up with advice. "I'm in here!!!"  or "Ask if I'm in the basket!" (This one was after he climbed in the mail basket which is in the closet.)  He then bursts out of the closet with a goofy grin ready to repeat the process.  I've encouraged him to try different hiding places but no doing - the hall closet is the best.

This afternoon during nap time we played our first game of hide and sleep.  As usual, Jack was playing/reading/chatting before settling in for his nap.  I could hear him on the monitor but couldn't see him.  Soon, I realized that it had been quiet for a while but I still couldn't see him.  I crept up the stairs and opened his door - he was nowhere in sight.  I discovered him behind the curtains, sound asleep on the window seat.  His first roving nap adventure.
